Nursing
Registered nurses who obtain a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) may have more opportunities for professional advancement than nurses with only an associate degree or diploma. Leadership positions at health care facilities often require a bachelor degree. The purpose of the BSN program is to help registered nurses (RNs) prepare for a broader scope of practice. It may also provide a foundation for career mobility into leadership positions.
The BSN program at the Breckinridge School of Nursing and Health Sciences at ITT Technical Institute has a management and leadership focus and provides opportunities for students to explore various topics in health care management, including case management, managed health care and health care business management. It focuses on the core knowledge and skills, ethical values and critical reasoning that can help students prepare for the responsibilities of a professional nurse. The program can help graduates prepare to provide evidence-based generalist nursing care to patients, families, groups and communities across the continuum of health care settings. It can also provide a foundation for nursing leadership roles.
An online education offers opportunities for students to pursue their educational objectives when attending school in a traditional classroom is just not practical.
