ITT Educational Services, Inc. Donates Hundreds of Books to Indy Reads

Carmel, Ind. (July 19, 2016) — ITT Educational Services, Inc. (ITT/ESI) has donated approximately 250 books to Indy Reads, a not-for-profit organization that relies on volunteers to provide adult literacy tutoring.

The recent book drive at the corporate office of ITT/ESI is one of five that have resulted in more than a thousand books donated since 2014.

"Our employees have been supporting great local projects like Indy Reads since we opened our doors," said Kevin M. Modany, CEO of ITT Educational Services, Inc. "The generosity of our employees allows us to keep giving back to community organizations that have a proven track record of results."

Last year, ITT/ESI scheduled a number of donation-based drives with its corporate employees, and Indy Reads was just one of the beneficiaries.

"We are thrilled and delighted that ITT/ESI wants to support our mission, which is to promote the literacy of adults. Any donation made to the book store directly supports the mission of the organization, and we are very grateful," said Indy Reads Executive Director Travis DiNocola.

Indy Reads Books, located in downtown Indianapolis, is an independent bookstore run by the organization. The store depends on new and gently used book donations from members of the community and donates all its revenue to Indy Reads.

For every $5 spent on books at the store, the organization is able to provide one hour of tutoring. The Indy Reads Wish List can be found online for anyone who would like to support the organization.
