ITT Technical Institutes by the Numbers: Community Support
Leading provider of technology-oriented degree programs freezes tuition rates for continuously enrolled students as part of ongoing commitment to affordability.
Carmel, Ind. (June 17, 2016) — The ITT Technical Institutes continue their long-standing tradition of community service and supporting nonprofit and professional organizations by hosting more than 2,000 individuals on their campuses for community, professional or employer events this year.
As of June 2016, ITT Tech campuses have hosted approximately:
- 34 community events; such as donations drive for United Way, blood drives, and career days for Goodwill Industries
- 110 professional and non-profits; providing organizations such as the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the Information Systems Security Association, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, The Institute for the Development of Education in the Arts, and the Veterans Economics Communities Initiatives with free meeting space and opportunities to engage with ITT Tech students
“ITT Tech campuses are actively involved in their communities. Providing our students with opportunities to work with community-based nonprofits provides valuable learning and professional development experience,” said Kevin M. Modany, CEO of ITT Educational Services, Inc. “Learning to donate time and energy to charity is also consistent with the social responsibility initiatives of many major employers.”
ITT Tech campuses often welcome non-profit organizations to discuss their needs and ways in which ITT Tech students can assist with meeting those needs. At these events, students, staff and civic leaders discuss community initiatives and identify potential student professional experiences outside the classroom and other volunteer and community involvement opportunities.
For the last few years, the ITT Technical Institutes have participated in the President’s Interfaith and Community Service Campus Challenge. Led by the White House and supported by the U.S. Department of Education and the Corporation for National and Community Service, this initiative challenges colleges and universities around the country to make community service and engagement a priority.
