Computer forensics is the collection, identification, preservation interpretation and documentation of computer evidence. Prospective students who have an interest in criminal justice as it relates to investigating evidence found in computers and digital storage media may be interested in studying computer forensics. Online degree programs may be available, giving students who are not able to attend classes in a traditional classroom setting the ability to pursue an education when and where it is convenient.
A computer forensics online education may appeal to adult learners who already have job and/or family responsibilities. An online degree program may allow students the ability to study on their own schedule, without affecting their work schedule or taking time away from their family.
The ITT Technical Institutes are a leading provider of technology education in the United States. Some ITT Technical Institutes offer online Computer Forensics programs of study in the School of Information Technology.
